Recreation Services manages the City's 30+ active reserves, including the Treeby Community and Sports Centre and the Frankland Park Sports and Community Facility, which opened in 2022, as well as 300+ passive reserves and 16 community centres and halls.
The City of Cockburn has a large number of sporting reserves which are available for hire for a wide range of activities including sports carnivals and public events.
Schools wishing to hire a reserve should contact the City's Recreation Services Department via email [email protected] or phone on 08 9411 3444. Fees are discounted for school groups.
The Bibra Lake Fun Run is a popular annual event hosted by the City's Recreation Services in September. The event attracts up to 1,000 participants each year with a chance for schools to enter and win a prize for the largest school team. People of all abilities are encouraged to participate.
Recreation Services supports 120 local sporting clubs through the Champion Clubs initiative. The program is designed to empower clubs to become self-sustainable. It aims to create healthy, welcoming and inclusive sporting environments to increase participation and community belonging.
