Community Development

The Community Development team works with community members, volunteers, and not-for-profit organisations to support and contribute to a community in which people can feel a sense of belonging and connection. The team offers free training covering various topics and provides a range of free resources, funding opportunities and assistance for P&Cs.
 
These include:

  • Community Project Support Program – Need help or want to develop a project? Support is available for up to six months.

  • Community Signs – Book any of the banner spaces located in each suburb around Cockburn for free to promote your events. Visit

  • Cockburn Community Trailer – book the free trailer and available equipment (such as eskies, BBQ, marquee, witches' hats, giant games and tables) for your event. Visit www.cockburn.wa.gov.au/CommunityTrailer
  • Neighbourhood Networking Fund – local communities are supported to hold small neighbourhood events such as picnics. For more information visit www.cockburn.wa.gov.au/neighbourhood
