The Museum building is located within the old Engine Room of the original Wireless Station established in 1912. Next, we take the opportunity to experience ‘behind closed doors’ in Australia’s only monastic town. This outing includes a private tour guide showcasing New Norcia’s eclectic Monastic, Aboriginal and European heritage. Explore some of the town’s richly decorated buildings, including the Flour Mill, Abbey Church and beautifully frescoed college chapels. We finish our tour with a buffet style 3-course menu at St ldephonsus College and a peruse of the New Norcia Museum gift shop.

Arriving at Woodridge Oasis Café for morning tea where you can purchase and enjoy a cuppa and a snack, we then travel to the Pinnacles. Located at the southern gateway to Australia's Coral Coast along the Indian Ocean Drive, the Pinnacles Desert of Nambung National Park is one of the major natural attractions in the region, covering an area of 17,487 hectares providing natural habitat for an extensive array of native animals and birdlife.
The Pinnacles are amazing natural limestone structures, formed approximately 25,000 to 30,000 years ago after the sea receded and left deposits of seashells. Over time, coastal winds removed the surrounding sand, leaving the pillars exposed to the elements. The Pinnacles range in height and dimension - some stand as high as 3.5 metres tall!
