Tarun's commitment to the Councillor role and duties led him to serve the interests and needs of the residents on a full-time basis since being elected in October 2021. With his engineering background, he actively contributes to the debates on various agendas actively and with a view to keep the interest of the residents first and foremost in mind aimed at improving the quality of life for all the residents of Cockburn. He has consistantly demonstrated regular engagement with community members and has volunteered in most reference groups and committees. He attends regular Council meetings and Resident group events to understand residents' concerns and prorities. He is an active member of the Disability Reference Group, Multicultural Reference Group, Chair for the Crime Prevention Group, Chair for the NHW, Delegate to the Youth Active Care, Audit and Finance Committee, Environmental reference Group and Bush Fire Advisory etc. He takes the responsibilty to communicate council decisions and actions back to the community, ensuring transparency and accountability in the council's operations. Has demonstrated his ability to work collaboratively with other Councillors, Executives, Staff, and Community Groups. His collaborative approach ensures effective outcomes for the City and it's residents. His devotion to community causes and his presence and engagement at most events have earned him recognition and respect among the residents.
Tarun is committed to promoting sustainability and reducing carbon emissions in the city. With his 17 years of community volunteering, advocacy experience, corporate background, and genuine commitment to improving the lives of the residents, Tarun Dewan continues to commit his energy and experience to the residents of Cockburn.
