The City's Rangers manage numerous duties, encompassing animal-related issues such as dog attacks, stray dogs, livestock control, cat management, excessive barking, and ensuring adherence to animal registration as well as ensuring compliance in designated on-lead and dog exercise areas. Their responsibilities also extend to addressing littering, illegal dumping, unauthorised signage, and untidiness of properties.
Additionally, the Ranger team conducts daily patrols in reserves and beaches, focusing on educating the community about responsible dog ownership and enforcing compliance as required.
Our Rangers are excited to introduce a new Animal Behaviour Education Program for schools across the City of Cockburn. This initiative focuses on safe and responsible interactions with dogs, helping students understand the “do’s and don’ts” when approaching, handling, or being around animals.
Through engaging classroom sessions, our Rangers will visit your school to deliver age-appropriate lessons designed to build confidence, awareness and respect for animals in our community.
This program is available to all schools and caters for students from Kindergarten through to Year 12.
