Waste Education

Schools can access free waste education incursions and excursions focusing on waste avoidance, creative re-use of resources and effective recycling.

Resource Recovery Tours

The City can provide free bus travel to and from Henderson Waste Recovery Park. Students will learn about landfill, waste separation and resource recovery.

  • Tour cost is free

  • Minimum age is five years

  • Tour size is one school class per tour

  • Adult supervision, one adult per eight students is required

  • Tour duration is 1.5 hours.

Incursions

These are tailored to your school's needs and include activities such as:
  • Papermaking
  • Magnet making
  • Decorating a reusable bag
  • Giant board game
  • Memory game
  • School waste audits
  • Port Coogee Marinam Seabin excursion and presentation
  • 'Which bin?' game.

Waste Education Trailer

Schools can borrow the City's mobile waste education trailer which contains resources on how to reduce, re-use and recycle, as well as fun activities and games.
