Local Laws

The City of Cockburn Local Laws (Local Government Act) 2000 consolidates a number of local laws. The City of Cockburn is also responsible for administering a number of its own Local Laws.

City of Cockburn Local Laws (Local Government Act) 2000

This is the consolidated version of the local laws dealing with the following matters:

  • Animals
  • Reserves, Foreshores & Beaches
  • Dangerous and Offensive Things
  • Hawkers, Stall holders and Street Traders
  • Council Property
  • Signs, Hoardings and Bill Postings
  • Streets and Public Places
  • Traffic and Vehicles
  • Law, Order and Security 

Council also has separate individual Local laws relating to specific activities:

  • City of Cockburn Health Local Law 2000
  • Bushfire Brigade Local Law 2000
  • Parking and Parking Facilities Local Law 2007
  • Jetties, Waterways and Marina Local Law 2012
  • City of Cockburn Fencing Local Law 2012
  • City of Cockburn Standing Orders Local Law 2016
