Cockburn ARC has taken home three awards at the LIWA Aquatics 2026 WA Aquatic & Recreation Industry Awards last Thursday 27 August 2026.
Cockburn ARC's Infrastructure & Operations Coordinator Sarahjayne Westberg received the LIWA Aquatics President’s Award for her work launching the LIWA Aquatics Mentoring Program and helping develop the Aquatic & Recreation Managers course.
"Receiving the President’s Award was a very special surprise and one I’m incredibly grateful for," Sarahjayne said.
Cockburn ARC also received two organisational awards in the Sustainability and Safety categories:
Sustainability Award – recognising the ARC’s significant water-efficiency improvements and innovative use of geothermal energy to power HVAC, reducing reliance on gas. Combined with extensive solar infrastructure, the team continues to find ways to improve sustainability, reduce costs and lower its carbon footprint.
Aquatic Facility Safety Award – recognising the ARC’s outstanding safety culture, systems, and commitment to continuous improvement, including achieving a 99.93% Royal Life Saving WA Pool Safety Assessment score.
These awards recognise the work happening behind the scenes to make Cockburn ARC safer, more sustainable, and more efficient, while continuing to provide a high-quality facility for our community.
Congratulations to the
Cockburn ARC team on this fantastic achievement.
