The Food Sensations® program is presented by Food Bank W.A.
During this time, Food Bank are making an online version of the program available, with starting dates being released over time. Please follow this link to find which dates will suit you and register opens in a new window (via Zoom).
The education component of Food Sensations for Parents can also be accessed through Zoom by going to the Foodbank page opens in a new window.
Food Bank W.A. has also created a Facebook group for all things food, cooking and nutrition.
Join Quarantine Quisine opens in a new window group on Facebook where their team of University qualified dieticians and nutrionists will provide helpful tips and ideas to support you through this time, such as cooking on a budget, creating meals from pantry items, cooking with children, getting more vegetables into your diet and much more.
In addition, the Food Bank W.A. website opens in a new window has a range of engaging resources the whole family can use including Free Recipes, Collectable Game Cards, Colouring in sheets, Superhero Foods Bingo, Breakfast Placemats, Storybooks and sters. Superhero Foods HQ also has a separate Kids Zone, where kids can find recipes which are easy to prepare and delicious.
The Food Sensations® program is available for all City of Cockburn residents and we accomodate all dietary requirements.
If you would like to learn about eating healthier without breaking the bank, then this program is for you.
The Food Sensations® program aims to improve knowledge, attitudes and skills around nutritious foods.
Each session provides 1 hour of learning on a particular subject, followed by a group cooking session and shared meal.

The Food Sensations for Adults program runs for four (4) weeks and covers a range of topics including:

Reading labels and selecting ingredients

Budgeting and meal planning
-
Healthy lunchbox and snack ideas
-
Food safety
Note: Actual topics may vary between programs and sessions.
The Food Sensations for Parents program is open to parents, grandparents and carers of children 0-5 years old.
Free creche is provided for children but they are encouraged to join the group for the shared meal.
The program runs for five (5) weeks and covers a range of topics including:

Amounts, textures and types of food for each childhood development stage.

Tools and tips to make mealtimes joyful.

Healthy eating for the whole family.

Healthy snack and lunchbox ideas.
The Food Sensations for Men program is open to males over 16 who wish to improve their knowledge of healthy eating and skills in preparing healthy meals.
The program is presented in the evening to accomodate those busy during the day.
