On August 10, 2023, the Minister for Planning made a decision that the area will become an urban area in the future.
In accordance with public notice requirements under the Local Government Act 1995 for road closures exceeding 4 weeks, the following roads are proposed to be closed:
Closed off from 7am on 2 August 2021 until 5pm on 14 July 2023.
Road widening works are starting at the Hird Road intersection on Wednesday 7 June 2023. Access to and from Hammond Road will be available via Jubilee Avenue or Carmel Way. The intersection should re-open early to mid July 2023.
