There's so many new things to do and learn!

The City of Cockburn comprises 24 suburbs and is as big as it is beautiful. You can experience the wetlands to the waves, and everything in between. Whether you are a keen angler, avid twitcher, mad cyclist, or history buff, there is something here for everyone.

For the anglers

For the anglers, throw in your line at one of our popular fishing spots. Port Coogee Accessible Fishing Jetty, Ammunition Jetty in Coogee, Catherine Point Groyne at C. Y. O’Connor Beach, and the breakwaters around Woodman Point are all excellent spots to catch anything from Pink Snapper to Squid. Read more about fishing in Cockburn.

For the cyclists and walkers

The City’s expansive network of cycling paths, trails, dedicated bike lanes, and bike-friendly roads means it’s easy to explore everything Cockburn has to offer by bicycle. Our online bike map helps cyclists plot a course to a variety of attractions, which includes an art trail featuring murals, sculptures, and public artworks. Plan your trip along the Nyungar Tourist Trail using our interactive map.

For the history buffs

If it’s history you’re interested in, the Azelia Ley Homestead Musuem located in Manning Park, Hamilton Hill, offers a glimpse into the life of a prosperous settler family living in the Cockburn district in the early 1900s. For a gold coin donation, you can explore a curated collection of furniture, clothing, photographs and other historical artefacts from the time.

For the gardeners and environmentalists

We have a range of subsidies and rebates ranging from bird bath rebates, waterwise verge rebates, to native plant subsidies and sustainability grants.

For the hobby hunters

Why not try out a new hobby at one of our three libraries. Membership is free and each site offers a range of activities and events to suit all ages and interests. Kids will be entertained and educated at Toddler Tales, Pram Jam, Multi-Sensory Storytime, STEAM Club, and LEGO Club, and seniors can connect with like-minded people at social Mahjong, the Knitting Circle, or Poetry Lovers Club. Visit the Cockburn Libraries website to check out what’s on offer.
