The City of Cockburn’s In-Home Child Care Service operates with Registered In-Home Child Care Educators who are supported to provide quality early childhood education and care in a child's family home. The Service is part of the Commonwealth Children's Services Program, but is not a mainstream childcare service such as Family Day Care. There are specific Commonwealth criteria to access and continue receiving childcare.
Families must be unable to access any existing mainstream childcare service to meet their child’s needs, and must also meet one of the following criteria:
- Three or more children under pre-primary school age
- A child or parent who has a diagnosed non-communicable illness or diagnosed disability
- Parent(s) who work non-standard hours.
Please contact Centrelink of the Department of Human Services opens in a new window for the enrolling parent’s Customer Reference Number (CRN) and the CRN of each child to be enrolled in childcare. Please also register for the Commonwealth childcare subsidies.
