Fur Run popular in our dog-friendly City

Fur Run:17OCTOBER2021
If the wagging tails and smiling owners of previous years are any indication, Cockburn’s 6th Fur Run will be more popular than ever when it descends on Manning Park on Sunday, 17 October.

City of Cockburn Events and Culture Manager Marie La Frenais said the dog-friendly event had grown in popularity each year and she didn’t expect 2021 to be any different.

“Apart from the popularity of the free vet checks and discounted dog washes, local dog owners have told us they love the opportunity to go on a leisurely social walk with their pets and fellow owners,” Ms La Frenais said.

“They also love that it’s not a competition and that all participants receive a prize at the end of their walk around the lake.”

Other popular aspects of the day are that it is a casual, relaxed affair where you can also take the opportunity to register your dog before the 1 November deadline, or learn some dog obedience tips from a local expert.

Apart from the walk, enjoy the stalls, a puppy fashion parade, photo booth and a canine agility course 10am-1pm at Manning Park, Azelia Road, Hamilton Hill.
