The Bibra Lake Fun Run

The Bibra Lake Fun Run is free and welcomes people of all ages and fitness levels. It includes both a 6 km and 12 km course around the lake suitable for competitive runners and family groups alike, with prizes for overall and age group placegetters.

Registrations will close 12pm on Friday 12 September 2025, unless capacity is reached earlier.

Event Information

Event Date and Time

The Bibra Lake Fun Run is held on Sunday 14 September 2025, the north of the Progress Drive and Gwilliam Drive intersection.

Event timings are as follows:

Course information

The event area (including start and finish line) is on Progress Drive to the north of the Progress Drive and Gwilliam Drive intersection. Runners start on the road, turning right at Hope Road before merging onto the sealed pedestrian path approximately 600m down Hope Road.

Runners participating in the 6km event complete one lap of the lake in a clockwise direction. Runners participating in the 12km complete two laps, remaining on the pedestrian path to commence the second lap.

Collecting your Bib

Registrations before midday on Wednesday 10 September, please collect your bib from Cockburn ARC on the following days/ times.

*Registrations after midday on Wednesday 10 September and other uncollected bibs can be collected at the event from 6.45am.

Note: no new registrations will be accepted on the day. Participants are still welcome to take part, but will not receive a time.

Parking and Road Closures

Event Parking

No roadside parking is allowed on Progress Drive between Gwilliam Drive and Hope Road. Participants can park at the Adventure World car park, corner of Progress Drive and Gwilliam Drive.

Road Closures

Road closures will be in place from 9pm Saturday 13 September and will reopen at approximately 10am Sunday 14 September following the event.

Roads closed:

  • Progress Drive between Gwilliam Drive and Hope Road - Closed 9pm Saturday 13 September.
  • Hope Road between Progress Drive and Bibra Drive – Closed Saturday 14 September.

Other information

Bag Drop
Neighbourhood Watch will provide a bag drop area. All care will be taken however no liability will be accepted for missing valuables. Please only bring essentials and leave valuables at home or in your car.
Water provision
Participants are encouraged to bring their own drink bottle on the day and refill as needed from the water tank located at the start/finish area. The water tank is filled with filtered drinking water and is equipped with refill taps and bubblers. A water station will also be located at the approximate halfway mark.

Please note: there will be no water station on the course this year. The water trailer will be positioned for easy access by 12km runners during their second lap.
Food
Friends of the Community will be providing a free sausage sizzle and fruit after the event. Coffee vans will be in attendance.
Volunteers

Volunteering opportunities will be advertised by the Cockburn Volunteer Resource Centre on their Volunteer Job Board.  

Accessibility
The course is accessible for parents with prams and participants in wheelchairs.
Exclusive use

Event participants DO NOT have exclusive use of the area or course. The course location will be accessed by other members of the public that are not part of the event. Please show courtesy to other users at all times and refrain from abusive or offensive comments towards the public.

Dogs

Participants with dogs are welcome to attend, however for the safety of all participants, the following conditions must be adhered to:

  • Dogs must be on leash at all times on a short lead. Retractable leads are not permitted

  • Strictly one dog per person

  • All participants with dogs must start at the back of the start line marshalling area.

Cancellations

As much as is possible depending on circumstances, all registered participants will be notified by email if the event is being cancelled. The City will consider all factors to determine if it is possible to reschedule the event, however is under no obligation to do so.
