About the Cockburn Healthy Lifestyle Service
The Cockburn Healthy Lifestyle Service aims to help people of all ages to achieve long-term health, lifestyle and weight loss goals. The service offers a low cost approach to nutrition, education, physical activity, fitness, mental health, and child-specific services. Support is offered to clients through programs that are connected to local health service providers across the Cockburn area.
Becoming a member of the Cockburn Healthy Lifestyle Service gives you opportunity to access:
- One-on-one dietitian consults
- One-on-one exercise consults
- Group fitness options
- Group psychology workshops
- The Healthy Eating, Activity & LifestyleTM Program (HEAL)
- Ongoing health consults
- The latest news on programs, events and support services relevant to building and maintaining a healthy lifestyle
- Child-specific weight and obesity support (see OWL program below)
- Online programs available.
To participate in the Cockburn Healthy Lifestyle Service you are required to have a free initial health consult with an Allied Health Professional.
This consult is to assess nutritional, physical and mental wellbeing status and enable a tailored plan to be created to meet individual needs.

Pool Walking - Cockburn ARC - new members only - registration essential.
A six week program guided by an experienced exercise physiologist, these one hour sessions will get you moving in a safe environment.
A great start to your return to a healthy lifestyle.
11 October to 15 November.
Note: new members will need to attend a free health check prior to starting the program.
Winter Yoga
This free, eight week program will be led by an experienced Yoga instructor and is suitable for all skill levels 18+.
Weekly sessions start at 6.15am Tuesday, 18 July to 5 September, at Coogee Community Hall, 19 Arlington Loop, Coogee.
Bring your own yoga mat, towel and water bottle. Registration is not necessary but will ensure you are kept informed of any changes.
Girls Get Up Get Active Program
A free and fun eight session program for young women aged 15-20 years. Girls of all fitness and skill levels are encouraged to attend. Activities include beach volleyball, gym, yoga beats and dance. A qualified instructor will help you learn and improve skills every week.

Book into Girls Get Up Active Program
The Optimal Weight for Life (OWL) program was developed to help children and teens who are above a healthy weight.
The goal of OWL is to help children, teens and their families to make lasting changes to support them in reaching their optimal weight and lifestyle.
The program is led by Children's Nurse Practitioners from NursePrac Australia, who have many years of experience working in children's health.
The OWL program includes:

Detailed health assessment by a Nurse Practitioner
(Face to face and telehealth appointments available)

Treatment plan personalised for the child/teen and family

Psychological support

Health and wellness education

Follow-up clinic visits to help keep on track

Ongoing support.
The OWL Program is supported by NursePrac Australia, the City of Cockburn, Fiona Stanley Hospital and Cockburn Integrated Health.

Clients may choose to wear a mask even though they are not mandatory, and are encouraged to do so when physical distancing is not possible.
