HEAL program

Who can participate in the HEAL program

The Healthy Eating, Activity and Lifestyle (HEAL™) program helps adults of all ages and fitness levels develop lifelong healthy lifestyle habits.

If you feel unhealthy or believe you could be eating and exercising better, then HEAL is the program for you.

How the HEAL program works

The City of Cockburn partners with the Cockburn Healthy Lifestyle Service (CHLS) to deliver the HEAL Program.

HEAL is available as a group program or on-line.

The group program is run over a 6 or 8 week period, with 2 contact hours per week including:

  • 1 hour of gentle exercise - low-moderate intensity physical activity that anyone can do

  • 1 hour of lifestyle education.

You will also receive health consultations at the start of the program and after completing the program. The consultations are designed to assess your current health status, fitness level and measure your progress.

How the HEAL online program works

If it is difficult for you to attend one of the group programs listed below, you may wish to complete the education component online, then work with the supplied exercise videos.

  • Register as usual using the button at the bottom of this page.

  • You will be contacted by a Cockburn Healthy Lifestyle Service staff member within 3 working days to organise your health consult.

  • Following medical approval, you will receive a manual and other resources delivered to your home.

  • You will then receive an email with links to the 6 thirty minute Healthy Lifestyle videos to watch at your own pace plus 6 thirty minute exercise videos recorded by an exercise physiologist specifically for HEAL participants.
