The Disability Access & Inclusion Plan (2023-2028) assists the City of Cockburn to make its services and facilities equitable and accessible for people with disability. Under the Disability Services Act 1993, every local and state government agency must develop a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.
A Disability Access and Inclusion Plan helps public authorities plan and implement improvements to access and inclusion across seven outcome areas. These include services and events, buildings and facilities, information, quality of service, complaints, consultation processes and employment. These plans benefit people with disability, but also the community as a whole, including the elderly, parents with prams and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The City of Cockburn's Disability Access and Inclusion Plan ensures that all community members have equitable access to services and facilities.
