The Cockburn Healthy Lifestyle Service aims to help people of all ages to achieve long-term health, lifestyle and weight loss goals. The service offers a low cost approach to nutrition, education, physical activity, fitness, mental health, and child specific services. Support is offered to clients through programs that are connected to local health service providers across the Cockburn area.
Becoming a member of the Cockburn Healthy Lifestyle Service gives you opportunity to access:
- One on one dietitian consults
- One on one exercise consults
- Group fitness options
- Group psychology workshops
- The Healthy Eating, Activity & LifestyleTM Program (HEAL)
- Ongoing health consults
- The latest news on programs, events and support services relevant to building and maintaining a healthy lifestyle
- Child-specific weight and obesity support (see OWL program below)

To participate in the Cockburn Healthy Lifestyle Service you are required to have a free initial health consult with an Allied Health Professional.
This consult is to assess nutritional, physical and mental wellbeing status and enable a tailored plan to be created to meet individual needs.

The Cockburn Healthy Lifestyle Service is proudly funded by the Western Australian Primary Health Alliance, the City of Cockburn and Cockburn Integrated Health.
The Optimal Weight for Life (OWL) program was developed to help children and young people who are currently overweight.
The goal of the program is to help children, young people and their families to make lasting changes to support them in reaching their optimal weight and healthier lifestyle.
The program is led by nurse practioners from NursePrac Australia, who have many years of experience working in children's health.
Medicare covers the cost of the OWL Program and there is no need for a medical referral.
The OWL program includes:

Detailed health assessment by a paediatric nurse practitioner and a paediatrician

Treatment plan personalised for the child/young person and family

Psychological support

Health and wellness education

Follow-up clinic visits to help keep on track

Ongoing support.
