Disability Access and Inclusion

The City is committed to ensuring Cockburn is an accessible and inclusive place for people of all abilities, their families, and carers, and empowers them to be active members in the community.  

The City has developed a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan to guide the planning of projects, activities and services to ensure we are an equitable community. To support this, the City employs a full-time Disability Access and Inclusion Officer who works closely with all departments to ensure the events, services, information and facilities provided by the City are as accessible and inclusive as possible.
The Disability Access and Inclusion Officer also facilitates the Disability Reference Group. The Group meets regularly to keep up to date with City projects and exchange information on access and inclusion issues.

The Disability Access and Inclusion Officer is also a point of contact to the community for any disability-related queries or concerns, and for information and advice about City of Cockburn services and amenities.

Cockburn Community Care

Cockburn Community Care provides direct disability support to seniors and people with disability living in Cockburn. These services may be funded for eligible people by WA NDIS, Home and Community Care or Home Care Packages, or they can be self-funded.

Cockburn Support Service

Cockburn Support Service provides support in a confidential and caring environment to residents of the City of Cockburn. Cockburn Support Service staff can assist with short term counselling, information and referrals, advocacy as well as providing group activities and workshops to support the Cockburn community.
