Date Topic Information
24 July Cut, Paste, Slay We’re kicking off the term with papercrafts and queer creativity. Your masterpieces from tonight will be part of our Gallery of Queer Icons at the PRIDE Ball.
31 July Mouldable & Holdable Celebrate Disability Pride with us and the Australian STEM Project as we create assistive tools and accessibility hacks using mouldable materials. Whether it’s making everyday objects more usable or crafting something entirely new.
7 August Nest Quest Use any art form or digital medium you love—whether that’s The Sims, Minecraft, drawing, collage, or model-making—to design innovative, inclusive social housing ideas that could work right here in Boorloo. This buildathon is a chance to engage with the realities of homelessness in WA through stories of resilience and hope, exploring what makes a home safe and welcoming for everyone.
14 August PRIDE Ball Planning Pour yourself a cup of ambition! We are working on PRIDE Ball. You can choose Team Décor or Team Logistics. Or, you can cheer us on from the sidelines!
21 August Roll the Dice A night of dice and danger with this introduction to Dungeons and Dragons! Get ready monsters, these queers are here to slay!
28 August Actually, it’s Eggplant Join our PURPLE cupcake decorating sesh to celebrate Wear It Purple Day. We are inspired by the artwork by Lee Evatt (He/Them) to create beautifully decorated cupcakes that celebrate this year’s theme: “Bold Voices, Bright Futures”.
4 September It’s a Ka-Hoot Everyone gets to present their own Kahoot quiz to the group. Please don’t make Kerri regret this…
11 September R U Actually OK? R U OK Day can feel a bit surface-level—so we’re flipping the script. Bring your favourite comfort food or tea flavour to share and let’s talk about real ways to show up for each other. From mutual aid to peer support, we’ll chat strategies for caring for our communities beyond just asking the question. Food, warmth, and genuine connection.
18 September Bi-Furious Celebrating Bisexual Awareness Week with a night of camp, chaos and queer joy! Watching a cult classic that revels in fluidity, self-expression and queer liberation. Come dressed up, sing along and let’s do the time warp again.
25 September Gas, Gas, Gas! It’s the last YDI of the term, so you know the drill—pizza, Mario Kart, and vibes. While we race (and maybe rage), we’ll also co-design next term’s program together. Got ideas for themes, workshops, or chaotic game nights? Bring ’em! This is your space.
