Floating Beach Wheelchair Hire

With free hire of beach wheelchairs along the Cockburn coastline and the provision of beach matting at Ngarkal Beach, our coastline can be accessed by people of all abilities.

The Floating Beach wheelchair is free to hire for people with disability and is located at Ngarkal Beach, Port Coogee Marina. The passenger must wear a lifejacket (provided with the hire) and be assisted by two adults who are proficient swimmers. After making a booking, wheelchair pick-up and drop-off can be organised and provided at Ngarkal Beach.

When is the wheelchair available to hire?

Weekdays, including Saturday and Sunday, 10am - 2pm during summer when lifeguards are patrolling the beach.

How do I hire the wheelchair?

To hire, complete the 'Application for free hire of Floating Beach Wheelchair' form below, or call the City of Cockburn on 08 9411 3444.

  • The hirer - the adult person completing the application to hire form
