You don't need to pay to play!

There are more than 200 playgrounds in the City of Cockburn with 65 per cent designed for children and families of all abilities to play together. Chances are you will find a beautiful space nearby to enjoy with your family!

Popular playgrounds in Cockburn

Some of the most popular playgrounds include the awesome Bibra Lake Regional Playground in Bibra Lake, Botany Park in Hammond Park, Davilak Park in Hamilton Hill, and Macfaull Park in Spearwood. There are BBQs and picnic areas in many of the City’s parks and reserves and are free for the community to use, so pack your picnic!

The City also has a number of off-lead and enclosed dog exercise areas, so your four-legged friends don’t have to miss out on the fun.

Manning Park, Hamilton Hill

A beautiful place to spend time is Manning Park in Hamilton Hill – or the ‘King’s Park of the south’. Manning Park is part of the larger Beeliar Regional Park, which encompasses Manning Lake and the limestone ridge to the west of the wetland.

Manning Park has great facilities to cater for all outings and occasions and hosts major events during the year, including the Fur Run, Cockburn Rotary Spring Fair, and Teddy Bear’s Picnic. Manning Lake Reserve boasts significant flora and fauna in the lake and surrounding wetland areas to observe.

The Davilak trail is a limestone track that runs from behind the Azelia Ley Homestead Museum and across the ridge, with spectacular views of Cockburn Sound and the city. It’s popular with avid hikers and walking trail enthusiasts and can take between 30 minutes and two hours to complete. Or you could just run (or walk!) the 192 steps known as Manning Stairs – they’re Cockburn’s version of Perth’s famous Jacob’s Ladder.

Why not discover a park or playground you haven’t visited before? Our website features a handy online interactive map, which will detail the features, equipment, exercise equipment and facilities of each playground or park.

Froggy's Fun on the Green

Froggy’s Fun on the Green is a free, family-friendly mobile outdoor play program for anyone with children aged 0 to 5 years. Held during school terms, Mondays are at Manning Park and Tuesday sessions rotate each term to different parks/venues i.e. four other parks/venues will be visited during the course of the year. The program includes activities for children and is a chance for mums, dads and carers to connect with others, access information and get support in their parenting roles in a family-friendly environment.
