Thursday 24 April:
Two Anzac Day services will be held in Hamilton Hill tomorrow, 25 April, hosted by the RSL City of Cockburn Sub-Branch and the City of Cockburn.

A Dawn Service will be held at the War Memorial at Memorial Hall, cnr Rockingham Road at Carrington Street, Hamilton Hill 5.30-7.30am.  
The Anzac Day Parade and service will be held 9.30-11.30am.

Federal Fremantle incumbent MP Josh Wilson has pledged funding for a cockatoo watering station network stretching from Beaconsfield to Banjup if Labor wins a second term at the 3 May election.
The money would go to the City of Cockburn to install bird drinking stations in South Lake, Munster, Lake Coogee, Success and Banjup and to the Friends of Clontarf Hill, to put in a drinking trough, water tank, fencing, and a solar PV battery system at their Beaconsfield site.
In late 2024, the City of Cockburn added three new bird waterers to popular black cockatoo foraging sites in Cockburn, taking the total number of watering stations to five in time for the onset of Perth’s hot summer months.
The City has invested about $40,000 on five bird watering stations since 2023 with recent additions to Rinaldo Reserve in Coolbellup, and the grounds of the City’s Administration Centre, and MacFaull Park, both in Spearwood.

Wednesday 23 April:
The City of Cockburn is the first local government in WA to install a zero-waste station where consumers can refill reusable containers with a range of household liquids.

Located at its flagship aquatic and recreation centre Cockburn ARC, the Skipping Stones Refillery provides a variety of WA-made eco-conscious products including dish and laundry detergents, shampoo and conditioner, plus body wash and lotion, and hand wash.

The Fremantle Football Club is proud to introduce the Arthur Leggett Medal, a new honour to be awarded in the Club’s Annual Len Hall Tribute Games.  
The first presentation of this medal will take place on ground this Friday night following the ANZAC Day match against Adelaide at Optus Stadium.

Friday 18 April:
A Perth family who for decades refused to sell their valuable Hammond Park block — even as a suburb was built up around them and developers came knocking — have finally cashed in on the coveted land in a $4m deal.

The 2.34ha site at 466 Wattleup Rd in Hammond Park, was put on the market in August. It attracted eight offers from established developers and was picked up by construction outfit Apex Building, with the sale settled on Tuesday in a deal managed by Effective Property Solutions.

Tuesday 15 April:
A rare bat last recorded in Cockburn more than 30 years ago is among abundant and diverse native fauna recorded during surveys in bushland reserves in the City of Cockburn’s eastern and central suburbs.
