Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

  • Entry to the competition is free and open to people who live or work in the City of Cockburn and are over the age of 18 years.
  • City of Cockburn employees, Elected Members and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.

Competition period

  • The competition opens at 8:00am on Wednesday 7 October 2026.
  • The competition closes at 11:59pm on Sunday 1 November 2026.
  • Entries received after the closing date will not be accepted.

How to enter

  • To enter, participants must be subscribed to the City of Cockburn Business News newsletter.
  • Complete the entry form on the City’s website and select which West Tech Fest event you would like to attend.
  • While multiple entries can be submitted by the same user, email addresses will be filtered to ensure one competition entry per person.

Draw

  • The winner will be selected by a random draw from all eligible entries.
  • The winner will be drawn and notified on Tuesday 3 November 2026.
  • There will be ten winners for this competition.
  • Each winner will receive an email confirming their attendance at the event and will be emailed confirmation of their ticket. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.

Winner notification

  • Winners will be notified by email using the contact details provided at the time of entry.
  • If a winner does not respond within 5 days, the City of Cockburn reserves the right to award the prize to another entrant.
  • The winner’s first name and/or business name will be published in the City’s Business Newsletter and may be published in additional places such as the City’s website and social media.

Rights and use of entries

  • By entering the competition, participants grant the City of Cockburn permission to use submitted entries for promotional and reporting purposes, including on the City’s website and social media channels.
  • The City may use the winner’s first name and suburb when publishing entries.
  • By entering this competition, you agree that should you win, you may be photographed and/or appear on video for promotional purposes and that the photograph and/or video may be published on various social media platforms or printed in publications.
  • The City reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or where the entrant has, in the opinion of the City, engaged in conduct that is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the City or the spirit of the campaign. The City reserves the right to disqualify a winner without warning or notice if the City becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.

Privacy

  • Personal information collected will be used solely for the purpose of administering the competition and in accordance with the City of Cockburn’s Privacy Policy.

General

  • The City of Cockburn reserves the right to cancel, modify or suspend the competition if required.
  • By submitting an entry, entrants agree to these Terms and Conditions.
  • In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the City’s ability to proceed with this competition and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, computer virus, technical failure, or acts of God, the City may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and/or recommence it from the start on the same conditions.
  • The City is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the entrant or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this campaign, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
