West Tech Fest: Connecting Cockburn to the world of innovation

WA’s technology and innovation community are coming together for West Tech Fest, and the City of Cockburn is proud to support this year’s festival as a Festival Catalyst Partner.

Since launching in 2012, West Tech Fest has grown into Australia’s largest technology festival, connecting founders, entrepreneurs, investors and innovators from WA and around the world.

The festival brings global technology leaders together with local founders and emerging businesses, creating opportunities to share ideas, make connections and explore what’s possible when innovation meets ambition.

For Cockburn, it’s also an opportunity to showcase our growing reputation as a destination for innovation, investment and Blue Economy opportunities.

The City is supporting West Tech Fest through a $10,000 Festival Catalyst Partnership, helping connect Cockburn’s business community with the wider technology and innovation ecosystem.

With the Henderson Research and Innovation Hub at the heart of Cockburn’s growing innovation precinct, the City is investing in opportunities that support innovative businesses to connect, invest and grow.

Cockburn is home to a unique concentration of industry, research, defence, marine and advanced manufacturing capabilities, providing a strong foundation for new ideas and emerging technologies.

West Tech Fest provides a chance to put this ecosystem in the spotlight and connect local businesses and entrepreneurs with opportunities beyond our borders.

The City is also supporting Engineering Ocean Solutions (EOS), delivered by Four Blue, which will form part of West Tech Fest’s satellite event program.

Satellite events are community-run events held throughout West Tech Fest festival week, bringing the festival’s ideas and conversations into different communities and locations.

EOS will shine a spotlight on the opportunities and challenges facing our oceans, bringing together people working across engineering, technology, marine science and the Blue Economy.

This partnership reflects Cockburn’s role in supporting innovation across our marine and ocean industries and showcasing the opportunities within our Blue Economy.
