The regional facility provides a safe environment where men can be productive, feel valued, contribute to their community and connect with friends.

The building includes the following spaces:
  • Woodwork, wood machining area
  • Finishing area 
  • Metalwork/welding area
  • Open plan office area
  • Multi-purpose Community Meeting Room
  • Storage areas
  • Kitchen and requisite toilets, car parking area.
The multi-purpose meeting room provides a general seminar space and a recreation space. Other community groups including art groups, youth groups, scouts, seniors groups, and disability support groups are able to hire and use the facility. 

The City was successful in having a $484,220 Lotterywest Grant approved in May 2016. The total project budget was $1M, with $484,220 in Lotterywest Grant Funds and $10,000 in other grant funds. The Cockburn Community Men’s Shed facility is owned by the City and leased to the Cockburn Community Men’s Shed Incorporated. 

The facility opened in June 2018.
