My Transport and Lifestyle

The City offers a range of programs and services to help you make sustainable transport and lifestyle choices. Many of these can be free, or done on a budget. Contact the City for more information.

There are so many things you can do to live more sustainably, help the environment and reduce emissions. Many of the actions you can take are free, or easy to adopt on a budget.

TravelSmart

The City’s TravelSmart program helps you reconsider how you move, through education on transport behaviour. The City hosts a number of TravelSmart initiatives throughout the year.

Waste and recycling

Waste disposal is a very important part of sustainable living. Make sure you know what goes in what bin according to your two bin or a three bin system. Shop second-hand and visit the City’s Recycle Shop at the Henderson Waste Recovery Park for great pre-loved bargains.

Environmental grants and subsidies

The City has a range of environmental grants and subsidies to help you reduce your carbon footprint, including sustainability grants, home compost and native plant subsidies.
