Timeline

Start: Mid 2020 Finish: Late 2022

Budget

5.84M

The City of Cockburn has expanded the Port Coogee Marina which it owns and manages. Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the marina was completed in 2012 and included 158 boat berths. Stage 3 of the $5.84 million project began in August 2021, and was completed in October 2022. Stage 4 of the marina will be progressively constructed to provide approximately 250 berths.

What does Stage 3 include?

Stage 3 included works at the south and western side of Maraboo Island in Port Coogee including:

  • Construction of 69 boat pens for boats ranging from eight to 25 metres. These pens are spread across three new concrete floating jetties
  • A 90 metre timber boardwalk and concrete loading berth area
  • Two gatehouses serving the new floating jetties
  • Reconfiguration of car parking on Maraboo Island to create nine new parking bays.

The ‘Bellingham Unifloat’ floating concrete jetty that the City used is relatively new to WA, with Port Coogee being one of the first marinas in the state to install this design.

The new waterfront boardwalk area is accessible to the public and adds to the existing waterside boardwalk and walkways in Port Coogee.

Register your interest for our new berths

Marina Management are currently taking expressions of interest for 15m – 25m berth sizes on the new jetties so contact us if you are interested. To view the pen map for jet skis, standard boats and catamarans, see the boat pen map under 'Related Documents'.

Stage 4

Stage 4 involves additional boat pens located south of the current marina jetties. Construction will take place when there is suitable market demand.
