Using your trailer pass

Each year, ratepayers receive six trailer passes with their rates notice. These passes allow you to drop off eligible household waste or green waste at no additional cost.

Renters can ask their landlord for access to their property’s trailer passes. Proof of residence, such as a driver’s licence, must be shown when using a pass.

Trailer pass rules:

  • Trailer passes cannot be sold or transferred.
  • Trailer passes can only be used by the ratepayer for waste generated at that property.
  • Trailer passes may be cancelled if they are misused or sold.
  • Trailer passes do not apply to commercial quantities of waste.
  • Loads over three cubic metres must use the commercial weighbridge and will be charged as commercial waste.
If you have used all your trailer passes, you can still use the facility by paying the entry fee.

Household hazardous waste and trailer passes

You do not need a trailer pass to dispose of up to 20 litres or 20 kilograms of household hazardous waste. Entry is free when dropping off only household hazardous waste. See the Hazardous Waste section below for details.
