Cockburn Youth Centre's Holiday Program is packed with social, recreational and educational programs for young people aged 10-17.

Tuesday, 29 September Drama Production Prep We invite our current drama students to come down to practice monologues and painting signs. 10am–1pm FREE
Tuesday, 29 September Starfinder [Horror-Themes] Prepare for a fear-fuelled sci-fi RPG adventure as you and your crew of space-farers find a long lost ancient mining spaceship known as the Cerberus. What fate befell the crew? And will your crew be next? [Level 5] 10am–4pm $10
Wednesday, 30 September Smash Bros Tournament Have a SMASHING time against your friends with our Smash Bros Competition. A new competition prize has appeared! ‚Äč 11am–3pm $5
Wednesday, 30 September Tour de Cockburn Bike Hike Discover Cockburn by bike. Use your own or one of ours. Bring a helmet, water bottle, snacks and riding skills. Weather permitting. 10–4pm FREE
Thursday, 1 October Upcycle with Kirstin Get crafty and create your own paper clay sculpture, bowl or seed bombs over 2 days of recycling resources, painting and learning new skills with like minded young people. 2–5pm $5
Friday, 2 October BBQ Who doesn't love a good hotdog? Onion? Tomato sauce? Mustard? 1pm FREE for members
Friday, 2 October Boxing Workshop Have you heard about our new boxing program? Jay and Jackson will be showcasing their skills and doing some hands on skills to promote their upcoming program. 1–3pm FREE
Friday, 2 October Upcycle with Kirstin

Get crafty and create your own paper clay sculpture, bowl or seed bombs that we started on Thursday!

Friday, 2 October Drama Practice This is time set up for student of the Cockburn Drama Academy to practice and work on their performances.  4.30–6pm FREE
Saturday, 3 October Tabletop Guild! Dice! Cards! Meeples! What more can you ask for? Games such as Ultimate Werewolf, Rising Sun, Dead of Winter and many more are going to be played! midday–4pm FREE

Monday, 5 October Malifaux Get your deck ready and prepare to square off in this epic tabletop skirmish game as players square off in epic battles waged across Malifaux. A must-try for fans of war games such as Warhammer. 10am–4pm $10
Tuesday, 6 October Dungeons & Dragons Grab your spells and swords for this awesome Roleplaying Game. It has been years since the dragons of Aulestria left the world in peace, but a traveller has found something incredible… and dangerous, the egg of a true dragon! [Level 5] 10am–4pm $10
Wednesday, 7 October Bike Hike “Tour De Cockburn” Discover Cockburn by bike. Use your own or one of ours. Bring a helmet, water bottle, snacks and riding skills. Weather permitting. 10–4pm FREE
Thursday, 8 October Craft with Kirstin Learn how to turn boring recycled plastic into funky key rings, name tags, earrings or whatever you create!  2–5pm $5
Friday, 9 October Drama Practice This is time set up for student of the Cockburn Drama Academy to practice and work on their performances.  9–11am FREE
Friday, 9 October Smash Bros Tournament Have a SMASHING time against your friends with our Smash Bros Competition. A new competition prize has appeared! 11am–3pm $5
Friday, 9 October Lasercorps Players using our safe combat military simulation system fire a harmless infrared beam to try to eliminate opposing players. No projectiles are fired.  It’s like playing in a live computer game only OUTDOORS! midday–4pm $5

Saturday, 10 October Tabletop Guild! Join us for Tabletop Guild’s Card Catastrophe where we’ll be playing Trading card games all day! 12–4pm FREE

Age and Programs. 

The Cockburn Youth Centre is open to young people aged 10–24 (the month they turn 10 but not earlier). 
Holiday programs, part from the Youth Diversity Inc. programs, are you 10–17 year olds. 

 

Memberships

Our Youth Centre memberships are free but are mandatory for anyone using the Centre. You can become a member by filling out a membership form in person at the Youth Centre or you can fill out the online form.
 

Program Bookings

For programs with a cost, bookings can only be made in person at the Youth Centre.
Spaces may be limited and we recommend calling ahead and checking if spaces are available. If you are experiencing financial hardship, speak to a staff member and we can work something out for you. 
 

Personal Belongings and Food

During the school holidays we may provide lunch; however it is best to come prepared. We have a fridge and secure lockers for storing personal belongings. Each person must be responsible for their own belongings.
 

Hang Out

Our free program and hangout spaces are open to everyone. Equipment incudes X-box, PlayStation, pool table, ping pong, slackline and Foozball. 
 

Program rules

Please abide by the following rules and do not:

  • Behave or speak in a racist or sexist manner
  • Verbally abuse or threaten anyone
  • Behave in a violent or aggressive way
  • Carry any weapons at any time
  • Deliberately damage any property
  • Take any drugs, drink or smoke. Please note that anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to attend

You may be removed from the Youth Centre if you breach the rules.
