Youth Centre Holiday Program

The Cockburn Youth Centre is open to young people aged 10–24 (the month they turn 10 but not earlier). 

Holiday programs, apart from Youth Diversity Inc. programs, are for 10–17 year olds.

12 April 3D Creations Blender. Where he will show you the basics of rendering,
modelling and animation to bring your ideas to life!

12 April Ping Pong Tournament Think you’ve got what it takes to be King of the Table? Pit
your wits against the best the Centre has to offer.

13 April Trashy Fashion Join Kirstin from Cockburn Youth Services for part 2 of
our Trashy Fashion workshop where you will have the
opportunity to contribute to our avant-garde fashion from
recycled materials! This workshop is for young people
who are interested in getting creative and would like to
learn ways to reuse items which are often wasted.

13 April Pathfinder 1e Set sail on a high seas adventure as a group of
buckaneers search for the lost treasure of Captain Borgas
Flynn a nefarious pirate captain. Meet merfolk, fight
deadly monsters! What are you waiting for? [Level 6].

14 April Mario Kart Race away with great prizes and compete with friends across
the tracks of Mario Kart 8 on Nintendo Switch.

14 April Vast Grimm + Pokemon Adventures What’s better than one RPG? Two! Vast Grimm is a sci-fi
horror which finds a group trapped on a mining colony in
space! Then after lunch we set off to the Nular Region in the
world of Pokemon where the infamous Team Kangaskhan
are up to their tricks and it will take a Pokemon league to
stop them.

14 April Retro Gaming We’re taking back to the old school with a mobile arcade at
CYC. We have racing games, fighting games and air hockey!

16 April Tabletop Guild Come along for fun with an array of cool nerdy boardgames!
Ultimate Werewolf, Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Dead
of Winter and many more.

19 April Bike Skills Want to improve your bike skills? Or just have fun on some
obstacles? From wheelies to see saws to pump tracks, the
crew from Rock ’roll MTB will show you all the skills and
tricks. Bikes and helmets included.

19 April Bike Hike “Tour de Cockburn” Get out on the bikes and take in all the sights that Cockburn
has to offer.

19 & 20 April Storytelling and Film Two days program, 19 and 20 April
Ever wanted to try your hand at film making? Join Leila
these school holidays at the Youth Centre and learn the
basics of how to tell stories and make short films.

20 April D&D 5e The Razorvine Jungles is home to some of the most
deadly creatures in the realms of Aulestria! But brave
adventurers are needed to seek out the twilight lilac
before the next full moon. [Level 3].

20 April Badminton Step onto the court and take on the best CYC has to offer
in a bit of badminton.

21 April City of Mist A super powered murder mystery awaits in the City
of Mists, in a world where chosen individuals become
touched by fairytales and folklore you get to play one of
these special individuals and try to stop a killer.

21 April Balance and Breathwork Join Jake for some relaxing breath and balance work ahead
of our afternoon of Circus Stacking!

21 April Circus Stacking Balance and stacking reach new heights in this program
built on strength, balance and having fun!

22 April Barista Basics Ever fancied getting behind a barista machine? Head
down to the centre for a Barista Basics session with
Graham from ‘Grey Means Well’. We will be holding
TWO 1-hour sessions. Bookings essential!

22 April Ultimate Dodgeball Duck, dive and dodge in the Dodgey Bros arena! Who will
be the last standing!?

23 April Malifaux Come and play this popular card based wargame set in a
frontier wild west world. Colorful armies such as robots,
elementals, drunken gremlins and more battle for glory!

Our Youth Centre memberships are free but are mandatory for anyone using the Centre. You can become a member by filling out a membership form in person at the Youth Centre or complete the below form.

Program Bookings

For programs with a cost, bookings can be made in person at the Youth Centre or by calling 9411 3888.
Spaces may be limited and we recommend calling ahead and checking if spaces are available. If you are experiencing financial hardship, speak to a staff member and we can work something out for you. 

Personal Belongings and Food

During the school holidays we may provide lunch; however it is best to come prepared. We have a fridge and secure lockers for storing personal belongings. Each person must be responsible for their own belongings.

Hang Out

Our free program and hangout spaces are open to everyone. Equipment incudes basketballs, X-box, PlayStation, pool table, ping pong, books, slackline and Foozball.

Program rules

Please abide by the following rules and do not:

  • Behave or speak in a racist or sexist manner
  • Verbally abuse or threaten anyone
  • Behave in a violent or aggressive way
  • Carry any weapons at any time
  • Deliberately damage any property
  • Take any drugs, drink or smoke. Please note that anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to attend

You may be removed from the Youth Centre if you breach the rules.
