Friday 29 May:
City of Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett is the proud recipient of an award of the Order of 'Red Hrvatskog Pletara', presented on behalf of the President of the Republic of Croatia Mr Zoran Milanović.


The City of Cockburn is considering increasing rates by 6.75 per cent for the next financial year.
Cockburn ratepayers are encouraged to have their say about the proposed Differential Rates and Draft Capital Works Budget for 2026-27 advertised for public comment on the City’s Comment on Cockburn website until 5pm on Friday 5 June.

Fremantle mayor Ben Lawver wants to win both the Fremantle Dockers women’s and men’s teams back to Fremantle, while acknowledging Fremantle Oval’s deterioration prompted the AFLW side’s decision to move all home games to Cockburn.

The Fremantle Dockers will play AFL Women’s home matches at the Club’s Cockburn headquarters for the 2026 NAB AFLW Season, in a move set to support future growth and elite standards for the program.
The masterplan, which was endorsed by the City of Cockburn at its Ordinary Council Meeting on 12 May, involves the development for recreation, education and community uses in a three-stage approach, including the achievement of hosting AFLW home matches at the facility for the upcoming season.

Yangebup man Martin Glynn, who made social media posts supporting the gunmen who attacked a Jewish community at Bondi Beach in December, has pleaded guilty to racism and weapons charges.

Thursday 21 May:
The State government has announced work will begin on its new $17.3m Woodman Point Ammo Jetty, delivering a safer, modern facility that will boost local recreation and support over 100 jobs.
