Thursday 17 July:
Two young loggerhead sea turtles, including one found at Woodman Point in Coogee, have been returned to the ocean - via the air - after spending more than a year in rehabilitation at the Naragebup Rockingham Regional Environment Centre Rockingham.
They have been recuperating and undergoing treatment with medication provided by WA Wildlife in Bibra Lake.

Wednesday 16 July:
Cockburn Central is among top suburbs in Australia where property values are at their peak, experiencing 13.4 per cent growth in the past 12 months.

Jandakot Primary School and Kerry Street Community School are among 61 WA schools to share $258,521 in Partnership Acceptance learning Sharing (PALS) program grants.
PALS encourages WA schools to develop projects promoting and advancing reconciliation in local communities, and foster further understanding of Aboriginal cultures, achievements and histories.

BAE Systems Australia is cutting over 150 jobs at the Henderson precinct as defence work slows down despite the site’s crucial future role in AUKUS.

The whole community will benefit from a transformative $8.9m redevelopment of Malabar Park, home to Cockburn BMX Club and award-winning local charity Friends of the Community.

Sam Kerr and fiance Kristie Mewis have been snapped looking over the construction of their future oceanfront home in North Coogee.

Friday 11 July:
Congratulations to Cockburn ARC swim teacher Caitlin Preedy. She is a nominee in the Swim Teacher of the Year award at the 2025 WA Aquatic Recreation Industry Awards, presented by the Leisure Institute of Western Australia (Aquatics). And Cockburn ARC Swim ARCademy is also a nominee in the Swim School of the Year category. Winners will be announced in August. Good luck!
