Free School Holidays

About the event

The Cockburn Youth Centre is open to young people aged 10–24 (the month they turn 10 but not earlier). 

Holiday programs, apart from Youth Diversity Inc. programs, are for 10–17 year olds. 

Spaces are limited and bookings are required for all programs. All programs are free of charge and once you are a member, use the online portal to book.

Beginner keyboard lesson Feel the beat and unleash your rhythm, join our keyboard lessons and learn to play with precision and passion. Lessons are 1-on-1 30 minute sessions.  11am-4pm

Crafternoon - hanging art Get crafty and creative at CYC. Past projects have included clay magnets, personal chalkboards, candles, dream catchers and more. 11am-1pm

Tekken Tournament The top fighters clash in incredible confrontations of skill, combos, and strategy! Choose your favourite character, learn your moves, and determine if you have what it takes to become the ultimate champion. 12-2pm

Pickleball Fast paced. easy to learn and lots of fun. Pickleball is the perfect sport for all ages and skill levels. Join us at the Youth Centre to stay active, make new friends and enjoy the game everyone’s talking about. 12-4pm

Creative writing Join Caitlyn for an afternoon of creativity, chats and snacks. Perfect for first timers and those looking to take their skills to the next level. 2-4pm

Boardgames Get your game on!! We offer a wide variety of board games. A casual drop-in space for young people to hang out and enjoy some casual gaming. 12-3pm

Barista Basics Join our resident barista legends to learn the fine art of working a coffee machine. Open to all skill levels, from first timers to confident coffee slingers. 12-3pm

Memberships and Program Bookings

Our Youth Centre memberships are free but are mandatory for anyone using the Centreor wishing to participate in programs and activities. You can become a member by completing a membership via the link below. All programs are free of charge and once you are a member, use the online portal to book programs. Bookings are essential and can be made with your membership information.

Personal Belongings and Food

During the school holidays we may provide lunch; however it is best to come prepared. We have a fridge and secure lockers for storing personal belongings. Each person must be responsible for their own belongings.

Hang Out

Our free program and hangout spaces are open to everyone. Equipment incudes basketballs, X-box, PlayStation, pool table, ping pong, books, slackline and Foozball.

Program rules

The below will not be tolerated:

  • Behave or speak in a racist or sexist manner
  • Verbally abuse or threaten anyone
  • Behave in a violent or aggressive way
  • Carry any weapons at any time
  • Deliberately damage any property
  • Take any drugs, drink or smoke. Please note that anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to attend

You may be removed from the Youth Centre if you breach the rules.
