Annual Electors Meeting (AEM)

In accordance with s5.27 of the Local Government Act 1995, the Annual Electors Meeting is to be held once every financial year to consider the contents of the annual report for the previous year, and other general business.

The 2026 Annual Electors Meeting will be held on Thursday, 29 January 2026, at the City of Cockburn Administration Centre, commencing at 6pm. Electors are invited to ask questions and raise items of general business and motions which they may wish to discuss at the meeting. Please use the forms below to submit a question or motion. This must be done by Friday, 23 January 2026.

In accordance with the r18 of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996, the procedures to be followed at the Annual Electors Meeting and Special Electors Meeting are to be determined by the Mayor, being the person presiding at a general or special meeting of electors.

Special Electors Meeting (SEM)

In accordance with s5.28 of the Local Government Act 1995, a Special Electors Meeting is held on request of not less than 100 electors or 5% of the number of electors, whichever is the lesser number, or 1/3 of the number of Council members.

In accordance with the r16 of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996, the request is to specify the matters to be discussed at the meeting and forwarded to the Mayor.
