Find your bin collection day

To find your bin and verge collection days, enter your address in the search box below and select from the results.

Bins should be placed on your verge by 6am on the day of collection.

Holiday collection changes

Over the festive season, bins will not be collected on Thursday 25 December 2025 or Thursday 1 January 2026.

During these two weeks:

  • Thursday’s bins will be collected on Friday
  • Friday’s bins will be collected on Saturday

For all other public holidays, bins are collected on the scheduled day.

Missed bin collection

Please ensure your bin is on the verge for pickup by 6am.

If your bin was placed by 6am and was missed, please contact the City. All requests for missed bin pickup will be reviewed using vehicle CCTV footage. If the bin was not out on time, the City will not provide a return service. However, if the bin was out on time and missed, the City will review the situation and may provide a return service, depending on the discretion of Waste Services and resource availability.

How to place your bin(s) for collection

Proper bin placement helps crews empty bins safely and prevents damage. Please follow these guidelines:

  • Place bins out by 6am
  • Position bins within 1.5 meters of the kerb
  • Ensure bin handles face your property, with the lid opening facing the road
  • Leave at least 30 cm between bins
  • Place smaller 140-liter bins to the left of larger bins when viewed from the road
  • Ensure lids are fully closed
  • Do not overfill bins - trucks cannot lift bins weighing more than 70 kg
  • Keep bins clear of obstacles such as cars, trees, and branches.
Note: Unpaid or non-Cockburn bins will not be serviced.

Storing your bin after collection

  • Remove bins from the verge within 24 hours of collection
  • Store bins behind the street alignment.

Units, complexes and grouped dwellings

If you live in a unit or complex, bins must still be placed safely and accessibly. If you are unsure how to present bins due to limited verge space or shared driveways, please contact the City for advice.
