About free home eco-audits

Want to reduce your energy and water bills? The City of Cockburn offers a limited number of free home check-ups in Cockburn each year. Successful applicants can receive tailored advice on energy, water and waste to help reduce household electricity, gas and water bills. One audit per household.

A home sustainability advisor will check:

  • Reticulation
  • Hot water
  • Fridges and pools/spas are working efficiently
  • Standby loads
  • Heating and cooling and suggest improvements
  • Give tips on future eco-renovations.

As well as the check-up, you can receive bonus installation of free eco hardware in your home or a ‘Twin Bin’ compost setup valued at over $60.

Eligibility

Applicants must be residents, tenants or owner/occupier in the City of Cockburn. Applications are invited all year round, however only one audit per house.

Please complete the below Free Home eco-audit check form. The City invites applications all year round, however funding rounds are limited to one or two per year.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Audit households must be located within the City of Cockburn.
  2. You must not have previously received a Home Sustainability Audit at your current address.
  3. Households that have low energy and water use may not be eligible for an in-person audit, but eligible for a virtual audit.
  4. You must make a concerted effort to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice if the audit is to be rescheduled or cancelled. Late notice may make you ineligible to reschedule.
