Cockburn Youth Centre offers a range of engaging after-school term programs for young people aged 10–17 years.

If playing role-playing games, working on drama productions, music, basketball or connecting with peers is your thing, we have you covered. We even have programs that help you create a resume and identify relevant jobs with our Employ Me program. Need your Learners driving permit? We have it covered with Keys for Life.

Monday Nights are for cooking! Join our experienced Chef in the CYC kitchen to help cook, serve and clean up for the crowd. This experience is valuable to young people looking to try their hand in hospo. This program has limited availability so please apply with an email to [email protected]

Monday Pitch Perfect 
If you want friends to sing along, come on down and join Sharon. If you’re 10-16 this is your crowd, but 16+ too can sing out loud. With an awesome crew, this group’s for you. So start your week with a blast, one hour sessions are filling up fast!

Lead by our amazing DM Michael, come embark on an epic fey journey in Wild beyond the Witchlight (D&D 5e) or defend the city of Sandpoint in Rise of the Runelords (PF2e). Face deadly mythical threats, cast spells and forge your own adventure.

Music enthusiasts, get ready to ‘Tune In’ to a tenweek musical adventure like no other! Dive into the world of emotion, melody, and self-discovery as we explore intersections between music and
our inner selves. Engage in ‘active listening’, as we listen to albums from start to finish, then have lively discussions about the lyrics, artist, messages, and our feelings around them! Albums will rotate, with a new album each week. Limited spots available!

Saturday Tabletop Guild
Grab your dice and decks and get ready for a day of fun and games with the Tabletop Guild. Games include Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Happy little dinosaurs, Munchkin, Sherriff of Nottingham and more. Then every second week, grab your Fate Deck and journey into Malifaux a cowboys, zombies and mages wargame! (minis available for loan – if booked prior).

Important Information

Ages
The Youth Centre is for young people aged 10–24 years (the month they turn 10) to drop in and get involved. Programs held during school term and holidays are for 10–17 year olds.
Memberships
Membership is free and is required for anyone using the Centre and its programs.
Program Bookings
Bookings and payments can be made by phone or in person at the Centre. Spaces for programs are limited, so please book in advance.
Personal Belongings and Food
Some of our programs include lunch, although it’s best to come prepared. We have a fridge and secure lockers for storing personal belongings. Each person is responsible for their own belongings.
Hang Out
Our hangout spaces are open for all to use and include X–box, PlayStation, a pool table, ping pong, slackline and Foozball. Young people are welcome to drop in from 3pm on weekdays.
