If you're 50 and over, you'd love what's on offer at the Cockburn Seniors Centre. Take a look, we think you'll be pleasantly suprised.

Cockburn Seniors Centre hosts a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses. Please see our current timetable (ongoing regular classes and activities) and activities guide (short courses, events and outings).

About the Cockburn Seniors Centre

The Cockburn Seniors Centre is a membership based centre for people aged 50 and over who live within the City of Cockburn.
It provides a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses . These include:

  • Meals - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at midday (pre-order before 10am)
  • Café - Tuesday and Thursday 9am –1pm. (orders from 8.30am til 12.45pm)
  • Services - a centre-based hairdresser and naturopath (available by appointment)
  • Transport - a van shuttle service is available for members who are transport disadvantaged - bookings required (assessed service)
  • Computer Room - computers/iPads and free WiFi available for members to use.

Become a member 

Membership to Cockburn Seniors Centre is $50 for one year. Memberships run from 1 July 2023 - 30 June 2024.

Members enjoy access to:

  • Centre activities that range from free to up to a maximum of $10 per class
  • Outings (prices vary)
  • Meals $12 for two courses, plus tea/coffee and/or main course only $9

Outings Booking Conditions

  • Outings are available for members only
  • Payment must be made at time of booking for all outings
  • Bookings can be made for a maximum of two people (yourself and one other member) (full name is required of the member you are booking on behalf of)
  • Apologies, but cancellations cannot be refunded

Are you ready for an epic adventure? Enter the magical world of internationally renowned artist Thomas Dambo in Mandurah.

The ‘Giants of Mandurah’ is a free outdoor exhibition celebrating the extraordinary beauty and importance of protecting our natural world, including Mandurah’s globally significant Ramsar-listed wetlands, unique waterways, bushland and wildlife.

Wildflower Bush Walk Adventure

  • Moderate to high walking involved 

Enjoy a morning out with nature where you will be taken on a guided bush walk through the Denis de Young reserve wetlands. Free morning tea included and will be served at Banjup Hall.

Cirque Du Soleil – Crystal (SOLD OUT)

Take in the atmosphere of Crown Casino on arrival, purchase your dinner at one of the restaurants available. Amazing world-class acrobats and ice skaters take on a frozen playground. Don't miss the stunning breakthrough ice experience.

The Hike Collective – Yanchep Caves – Yoga Experience/Ocaens 27 Cafe

Enjoy a wonderful 45 minute Yoga experience up in the gorgeous Caberet Caves in Yanchep National Park, followed by enjoying a freshly pressed juice, then we embark on a short 1.1km hike through the koala boardwalk and stop at the Chocolate Drops Café where you may purchase your own tea/coffee before we head seaside to Alkimos to enjoy lunch at Oceans 27

Belmont Harness Races

Enjoy a day out at Crown Casino to soak up the atmosphere. Purchase some of the delicious foods available from the many food outlets. Then rediscover the magic of one of the world's most beloved tales, Mary Poppins musical in a new spectacular theatrical experience. An enjoyable and amazing musical for all to see.

Hotham Valley Train & Dwellingup Hotel

  • Wednesday 4 October
  • 7.45am - 4.30pm
  • Outing Cost - $90
  • Moderate to high walking involved    

Arrive at the Way Point café for a morning tea with a selection of homemade cakes and scones with your choice of coffee or tea. Enjoy a two hour Steam Train excursion traveling 14kms down to Isandra. Travel along an amazing portion of steeply graded and tightly curved railway manually carved into the Darling Range, then stop for a 15 minute break to take in the views, which once so masterfully served the timber industry and the agricultural areas of Dwellingup and beyond. Lunch will be at the historical Dwellingup Hotel.

Arrive at Araluen and buy your own morning tea. Then enjoy a leisurely walk amongst the kaleidoscope of colour brought to you by 150,000 tulips and a variety of spring blooms. Our delicious lunch will be at the Elizabethan Tavern while soaking in the views amongst the hills.

Enjoy a day out at Perth’s largest lavender farm, Yanchep Lavender Farm, where you can discover their range of unique lavender-themed products. Upon arrival you can purchase your own morning tea at the Café, followed by a walk around the farm. We will then sit down and enjoy a lovely lunch.

Busselton Jetty and Shelter Brewery

Explore one of only six underwater observatories in the world at the Busselton Jetty.  Your Underwater Observatory tour starts with a relaxing train ride on the Stocker Preston Express along the length of the Jetty with 360-degree views across Geographe Bay.  As you descend eight metres below the ocean’s surface you will be lead through the natural wonders that lie beneath the Jetty where the piles create Australia’s greatest artificial reef, hosting an inspiring forest of vividly coloured tropical and sub-tropical corals, sponges, fish and invertebrates. On completion of the tour, we will head to the Shelter Brewery where you can eat while watching the bay, taste the sun and soak up the feeling.

The award-winning Bentley Pines Training Restaurant at South Metropolitan TAFE is a live, interactive training environment for students preparing for work in the hospitality industry.
Enjoy a delicious three course a la-carte lunch with amazing service.
