Purpose Statement
An active, social, informed and inclusive seniors community.

If you're 50 and over, you'd love what's on offer at the Cockburn Seniors Centre. Take a look, we think you'll be pleasantly suprised.

Cockburn Seniors Centre hosts a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses. Please see our current timetable (ongoing regular classes and activities) and activities guide (short courses, events and outings).

About the Cockburn Seniors Centre

The Cockburn Seniors Centre is a membership based centre for people aged 50 and over who live within the City of Cockburn.
It provides a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses . These include:

  • Meals - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at midday (pre-order before 10am)
  • Café - Tuesday and Thursday 9am –1pm. (orders from 8.30am til 12.45pm)
  • Services - a centre-based hairdresser and naturopath (available by appointment)
  • Transport - a van shuttle service is available for members who are transport disadvantaged - bookings required (assessed service)
  • Computer Room - computers/iPads and free WiFi available for members to use.

 The Seniors Centre offers scrumptious meals to members and non-members. Find out what's on offer by visiting the menu page.

Become a member 

Membership to Cockburn Seniors Centre is $50 for one year. Memberships run from 1 July 2023 - 30 June 2024.

Members enjoy access to:

  • Centre activities that range from free to up to a maximum of $10 per class
  • Outings (prices vary)
  • Meals $12 for two courses, plus tea/coffee and/or main course only $9

Outings

Outings Booking Conditions

  • Outings are available for members only
  • Payment must be made at time of booking for all outings
  • Bookings can be made for a maximum of two people (yourself and one other member) (full name is required of the member you are booking on behalf of)
  • Apologies, but cancellations cannot be refunded

Sculptures by the Sea

  • Tuesday 5 March
  • 9am - 3.30pm
  • Outing Cost - $9.50
  • High walking involved   

Enjoy a day out at Cottesloe beach with a guided tour of the sculptures. Buy your own morning tea and lunch from a variety of venues all while soaking in the beautiful view.

Fairbridge Village & Lunch

  • Wednesday 13 March
  • 8am - 4pm
  • Outing Cost - $35
  • Low walking involved   

Escape to the country and take a bus tour of the famous Fairbridge Village where you will get morning tea on arrival and be told about the history of the village. You will then enjoy a delicious lunch at the Ravenswood hotel.

Lunch options:
Option 1: Chicken Schnitzel with gravy chips and salad
Option 2: Battered Fish & Chips with salad
 Includes dessert: Berry Pavlova and tea or coffee
 

Shopping at Mandurah Forum

  • Tuesday 19 March
  • 9.30am - 3pm
  • Outing Cost - $14.50
  • Moderate walking involved   

Enjoy a day out shopping at Mandurah Forum. Purchase your own lunch at the many food outlets available.

Shen Yun Performance

  • Wednesday 20 March
  • 12.45pm - 5.30pm
  • Outing Cost - $80
  • Moderate walking involved   

Get enriched in culture!
Shen Yun is a brilliant artistic revival and celebration of China’s rich cultural heritage.

Lunch options: NA (You can book and purchase your lunch from the centre and go on the outing after if you would like. bookings and payments requires)

Woodmans Point Quarantine Station Tour & Lunch

  • Thursday 21 March
  • 9.15am - 2.30pm
  • Outing Cost - $26.50
  • High walking involved   

Visit heritage-listed buildings, explore the original Isolation Hospital, learn from the displays and hear the staff and patients' amazing stories. Enter the oldest crematorium in Australia. Gain insight into a fascinating history from friendly and knowledgeable guides. Tour includes morning tea. Lunch at the Carrington Bar & Grill for a scrumptious 2 course lunch.

Option 1: Bangers and mash
Option 2: Chicken Parmi with chips and salad
Option 3: Fish, chips and salad
Option 4: Caesar Salad
 Includes Dessert: Cake of the Day

The award-winning Bentley Pines Training Restaurant at South Metropolitan TAFE is a live, interactive training environment for students preparing for work in the hospitality industry. Enjoy a delicious 3 course a-la-carte lunch with amazing service.

Crown Casino

  • Monday 15 April
  • 9am - 3.30pm
  • Outing Cost - $10
  • Low walking involved    

Take a trip to the casino to enjoy each other’s company and take in the ambience of the casino surroundings. Please gamble responsibly. Have a great time. Purchase your own morning tea and lunch from a selection of food outlets within the Casino.

Lunch options: Bring or buy your own lunch from one of the many restaurants at Crown Perth

Fremantle lunch River Cruise

  • Tuesday 16 April
  • 10am - 3pm
  • Outing Cost - $110
  • Low walking involved    

Spend lunch on the water during this Swan River cruise from Perth. As you glide leisurely down the river, feast on a buffet of hot dishes, salads, fruit and more. While you eat, take in views of Perth’s waterfront suburbs, the historic port city of Fremantle and yacht clubs. Enjoy photo opportunities of the lovely Perth riverfront and historical Fremantle from the water all while listening to live commentary.

Friendship Morning Tea

  • Thursday 18 April
  • 9.30am - 12noon
  • Outing Cost - Free
  • Low walking involved    

Enjoy the drive down to Waikiki and enjoy a morning tea (tea/coffee and cake) at the Charthouse Coffee Shop. After morning tea you will then visit the Catalpa Memorial in Rockingham where staff will give a tour and explanation of the memorial.

Lunch options: Cake of the day with Tea or Coffee

Toodyay Adventure

  • Tuesday 23 April
  • 8am - 4.30pm
  • Outing Cost - $44.50
  • High walking involved    

Take a trip out to Toodyay where you will have spare time to wonder the city centre before heading to lunch at the Victoria Hotel for a 2 course meal.

Lunch options: 
Option 1: Fish & chips with salad
Option 2: Chicken parmi with chips and salad
Option 3: Curry of the day with rice
Option 4: Roast pumpkin salad
Includes Dessert: Sticky date pudding with cream
