You can request certain records from the City, including ratepayer details and owner/occupier register. This page explains what information is available, the conditions that apply, and how to make a request.
Information you can access
Members of the public can request to view or obtain copies of:
- Rates records
- The register of owners and occupiers
- Electoral rolls.
Viewing these records in person is free of charge and does not require a statutory declaration.
Copies can also be provided, but additional conditions apply (see below).
Conditions for access
To request copies, you must submit a Statutory Declaration confirming the information will not be used for commercial purposes.
A commercial purpose means using the information for:
- Sale or resale
- Producing documents for sale that include the data
- Soliciting names and addresses
- Any other use for direct or indirect financial gain.
These requirements are set out in the
Local Government Act 1995 (s.5.94-5.95) and the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996.
How to make a request
To view records
Visit the City of Cockburn Administration Centre, 9 Coleville Crescent, Spearwood (open 8.30am–4.30pm, Monday to Friday; Rates staff available 2-3pm daily).
No statutory declaration is required.
To request copies
- Complete a Statutory Declaration (see below) stating your purpose and that the information will not be used for commercial purposes.
- Have the declaration witnessed by an authorised person (under the Oaths, Affidavits and Statutory Declarations Act 2005).
- Submit your request and declaration:
- In person: At the Administration Centre, 9 Coleville Crescent, Spearwood (open 8.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday; Rates staff available 2-3pm daily).
