Award-winning Australian comedians are preparing to shower laughter-loving locals with a torrent of hilarity at the 10th Side Splitter Comedy Festival in Hamilton Hill.
Lizzy Hoo, John Safran, Dave Thornton and Troy Kinne are among the line-up for the 2025 festival, set down for October 17-18 and 24-25 at the iconic century-old Memorial Hall in Hamilton Hill(arious).
For the first time, a Little Side Splitter will offer a punny, playful program for the young, and young at heart, with an afternoon of top-notch silliness featuring Morgan James’ One Man Circus and The Little HOO-HAA!
A partnership between the City of Cockburn and WA Comedy, the event features solo shows, galas and special events alongside a punters’ pop-up garden bar and food truck for a bite to eat before and after the show.
City of Cockburn Events and Culture Service Lead Marie La Frenais said tickets would be available online from Monday 25 August, with early bird pricing available until 9pm on 15 September.
“Side Splitter is popular so if you want to laugh along with some of Australia’s best and well-known comedians, book early to avoid disappointment. Missing out on tickets is never funny!,” Ms La Frenais said.
Festival Director Ronan Freeburn said the event’s tenth anniversary was a smile-inducing milestone.
“Time flies when you’re having fun! What started as an experiment in Hami Hill has grown into one of WA’s most loved comedy festivals, with national and top WA acts, sell-out shows, and a local crowd that knows how to have a good time,” Mr Freeburn said.
“We’re proud to still be keeping it real, accessible, and hilarious. Special thanks to the City of Cockburn for supporting us from the very start in 2016.”
City of Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett said Side Splitter had become a popular fixture on the City’s diverse events calendar.
“Thousands of Cockburn comedy enthusiasts have enjoyed the opportunity to laugh locally since 2016,” Mayor Howlett said.
“We’re happy to help provide an opportunity for our community to see some of Australia’s most popular comedians, right here in our own backyard, at affordable prices.
“Little Side Splitter is also a great chance for local kids to get in on the comedy act, with tickets for this new offering just $10 each until after the early bird booking period ends on 15 September.”
