Helping our residents achieve some of the dreams that help make Cockburn the best place to be is an important part of how our City gives back to the community.
For the past 29 years, the City of Cockburn has donated more than a million dollars annually to grassroots community groups, projects and individuals and $1.45m is up for grabs in 2024-25.
Applications to the first of two funding rounds of the Cockburn Community Fund for 2024-25 opens on 19 August until 27 September.
Applications are available across several categories including Community, Cultural and Sustainability Grants, Group Sponsorships, Youth Art Scholarships and Donations.
Individual and Small Events Sponsorship is available all year round, along with Sustainability Grants. Grants for Environmental Education in Schools are open once a year in March.
City of Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett said the fund had helped make a real difference to groups and individuals in Cockburn for nearly 30 years.
“The Council is proud to offer these opportunities to our community and we see the wonderful results every year as it supports a wide range of activities and initiatives throughout our City.”
A recent recipient is Ella from Success Netball Association who successfully applied to receive an Individual Sponsorship.
She used it to participate in a WA Netball League at the Association Champions weekend where she learned new skills, gained experience playing at a higher level and earned the Most Valuable Player award for her efforts.
