Calling all pups and their peeps!

Fur Run:21SEPTEMBER2025
Calling all pups who love fun, having a run, and being with other canine fur babies while safely on a leash - have we got a paw-some event planned for you and your staff (….dedicated owners)!

Cockburn’s annual Fur Run will celebrate its 10th year on 21 September with a range of tail-wagging activities and opportunities on offer between 10am-1pm at picturesque MacFaull Park in Spearwood.

The free event will include the ever-popular ‘fur run’ and the pooch parade. The ‘fur run’ is a 1km walk, run, or roll around the park while the pooch parade gives puppy participants a chance to strut their stuff for a chance to win prizes and awards, including best personality and costume, and most photogenic.

A highlight of this year’s event will be Yoga with your Doggo, designed especially for well-socialised dogs who are comfortable around other canines and their humans.

City of Cockburn Events Coordinator Emma Howe said the BYO dog yoga sessions were a unique way to connect with ‘humans’ best friend’ and their owners while having a stretch, improving flexibility and tapping into the universal flow.

“Fur Run is also a chance to discover local pet services and products, with about 20 market stalls selling food, drink and a variety of pet-focused offerings,” Ms Howe said.

City of Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett said dogs were central to many people’s lives in Cockburn and the City was proud to hold an event that celebrated them.

“More than 14,000 dogs are registered in our City. Fur Run is just one way we reach out to our community to help provide connection and education that enhances the importance of responsible pet ownership,” Mayor Howlett said.

“Fur Run will also kick-off the City’s Cockburn Live event season for 2025-26. There’s lots more fun ahead, so stayed tuned. We’d love to see you out there enjoying everything Cockburn has to offer.”
