About the event

Sew Your Way to a Low-Waste Christmas!

Christmas is a time of joy, but it can also be a time of excess. From plastic packaging to unwanted gifts, the festive season often leads to unnecessary waste. Let’s change that together! Join us for a hands-on, creative workshop as part of our Sustainable Christmas Events Series, where we’ll explore how sewing can help reduce waste and bring new life to discarded textiles.

What to Expect:

At our Sewing for Sustainability session, you will learn how to make:

  • Reusable gift-wrapping bags
  • Upcycled Christmas decorations
  • Festive buntings and stockings

All using second-hand and repurposed materials!

No sewing experience? No problem! This event is open to everyone—whether you're a seasoned stitcher or just curious.

Why It Matters:

By choosing handmade and reusable alternatives, you’ll help reduce:

  • Single-use plastics and packaging
  • Textile waste
  • Carbon emissions from shipping
  • The environmental impact of short-lived gifts

Plus, you’ll connect with like-minded locals, bust some common waste myths, and leave inspired to make a difference this festive season.
