About the event

Discover Nature in Your Neighbourhood

Join the City of Cockburn's Sustainability and Climate Change team and Harvest Lakes Residents Association for a morning of exploration at Harmony Park. These school holidays, come along and discover the beauty of this peri-urban wetland and park in the heart of Harvest Lakes. 
 
Find us at the Nature Discovery Day marquee, near Harvest Lakes Community Centre.

What’s on:

  • Free walks and activities for all ages throughout the morning - don't forget to register!
  • Colouring-in and games available throughout the morning.
  • Bring along a picnic, or buy yourself a treat: ​8–10am coffee van, 10am–1pm hot food.

9-10 am Guided walk to Eco Park with HLRA Turtle Trackers Join the Harvest Lakes Turtle Trackers for an educational walk to Eco Park to discover our wonderful local wildlife. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about turtles. All ages Register here
9-10am Nature Storytime Trek - Trek One Explore the wonders of nature through stories and sensory exploration for under 5s. It’s a fun-filled experience that combines the magic of storytelling with the beauty of the great outdoors. 2-5 years Register here
10-11am Boodjar Biddi (Bush Track) cultural walk See your local patch from a new perspective. Discover Nyungar knowledge of nature, wildlife, and the deep relationship between people and the environment. All ages Register here
10.30-11.30am Nature Storytime Trek - Trek Two

Explore the wonders of nature through stories and sensory exploration for under 5s. It’s a fun-filled experience that combines the magic of storytelling with the beauty of the great outdoors.

2-5 years Register here
12-1pm Guided Heritage Walk with Greg Atwell Join us for a unique insight into the history of our community with a guided heritage walk led by local Greg Atwell.  All ages Register here
1.30-2.30pm Wildlife Experience Get up close with some of Australia’s most fascinating native animals in this fun, hands-on wildlife adventure.  All ages welcome, but best suited for ages 6-12 Register here
