About the event

Cockburn Libraries are celebrating their golden jubilee, 50 years of serving the community!

It all began 50 years ago when Spearwood Library opened its doors on 23 March 1976. Since then, the Cockburn Library service has grown from one public library at Spearwood to three branches with Coolbellup opening in January 1990 and Success in March 2000 at Gateway Shopping City, before moving to the purpose-built library in 2014.

Join in the week-long golden jubilee celebrations from 23-28 March.

There will be free events, activities and displays at all three libraries culminating in the Birthday Fair at Spearwood Library, where it all began.
