The new facility will be a flexible community space that will serve a variety of different purposes for the community.

Construction has now commenced, with completion anticipated in 2022.

What will the new centre include?

  • Community activity, function and meeting spaces
  • Enclosed play area
  • Kitchens and canteen
  • Multi-purpose sporting clubrooms (overlooking the adjacent park)
  • Unisex change rooms
  • Car parking.

Community consultation

The City has been working with the community, key stakeholders and a reference group to develop the designs for the new centre. This feedback helped to shape the concept design for the new facility, which was advertised for public comment between April and May 2020. The feedback received was positive, with 96 per cent of respondents indicating they were happy with the concept design.
