Waste Reduction Rebates and Subsidies

Discover the rebates, subsidies and free programs available to help you reduce waste at home. These initiatives help residents save money, avoid landfill and adopt more sustainable everyday habits.

Cloth nappy rebate

Save money and reduce landfill by switching to reusable cloth nappies. The City offers a rebate to help cover the cost of reusable nappies and accessories. Learn more and apply through the Cloth Nappy Rebate page.

Reusable sanitary product rebate

Make the move to reusable period products and reduce disposable waste. Residents can receive a rebate for reusable sanitary pads or period underwear. Find out more on the Reusable Sanitary Product Rebate page.

Free home eco-audit

Reduce your waste and lower your household impact with a free home check-up. A sustainability advisor will visit your home to assess your current habits and offer practical advice on energy, water and waste reduction. Many households also receive free eco hardware or a twin-bin compost setup valued at more than sixty dollars. Learn more and apply through the Free Home Eco-Audits page.

Composting and worm farm subsidies

Turn your food and garden scraps into nutrient-rich compost rather than landfill. Residents can access discounted compost bins, worm farms, bokashi bins, pet waste composters and free kitchen caddies. See the full list of subsidies and how to claim them on the Home Compost Subsidies and Rebates page.

Zero Waste Refill Station for household liquids

Refill everyday liquid products and reduce single-use plastics. Bring your own clean containers to the refill station at Cockburn ARC to purchase dishwashing liquid, laundry liquid, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand wash by volume. A reward program is available through the Monyx app, offering a twenty dollar voucher after four purchases. Learn how the station works and how to redeem your reward on the Zero Waste Refill Station page.
