To be eligible for the rebate, you must:
- Live in the City of Cockburn.
- Be the property owner, an agent authorised to act on their behalf, or a tenant with signed consent from one of these persons, attach your owner approval to application.
- Complete a Sustainable Home Consult (Home Eco Audit) where required (this requirement is listed for relevant items).
- Use a licenced installer for items that require one.
- Claim only for expenses incurred within the current financial year, supported by legitimate proof of payment and installation.
Applications are open from 2 February to 30 June this financial year, unless allocated funds are exhausted prior to this date.
Step 1: Check the Eligibility Criteria and Read the Terms and Conditions
- Review the Eligibility Criteria for your chosen rebate item.
- Read the About the Rebate page for all terms and conditions.
- To be eligible to receive a sustainability rebate, your Sustainable Product must have been installed or undertaken in the past 12 months.
Step 2: Sustainable Home Consult
- Most items require a Sustainable Home Consult, formerly known as Home Eco Audit. Book your free consult in with Green Service (valued at $300, but free for Cockburn residents).
- If you don't require a Sustainable Home Consult for your rebate item, but you would like some advice about the item, then please contact Green Services.

Step 3: Obtain Quotes
For items close to $500, it's advisable to get two quotes to ensure the best value.
Step 4: Purchase and Installation
Buy your sustainable item/s, arrange for installation by certified professionals if required, and complete payment.
Keep your proof of purchase invoice or receipt that shows you have paid for the item. No deposits will be rebated, nor invoices showing outstanding payment.
Step 5: Submit Application
Complete the Rebate Application Form, including proof of payment in forms of receipts and invoices showing $0 owing and proof of installation in the forms of photos of the products in use or installed.
To assist the City's evaluate program impact please attach your
most recent electricity bill and the City will contact you in one year to evaluate the impact of your rebated item.
You will receive notification of your successful submission. If you dont receive a notification, then have a look and there may be an error.
Step 6: Receive Rebate
Once approved, please allow six to eight weeks from the date of approval for the rebate payment to be processed. Funds will be transferred into your nominated account.
