SmartRates: Pay Your Rates Weekly, Fortnightly or Monthly

SmartRates lets you pay your rates in smaller, regular amounts by Direct Debit. You can choose to pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly (four weekly). This helps spread the cost across the year and takes away the worry of larger lump sum payments.

If you keep to your SmartRates schedule, you will not be charged interest or penalties.

How SmartRates works

  • Payments are made automatically by Direct Debit from your bank account.
  • You can choose the frequency that suits you best:
    • Weekly
    • Fortnightly
    • Monthly (4 weekly)
  • Payments continue until your rates are paid in full
  • You must apply before the annual due date shown on your Rate Notice.

Benefits of SmartRates

  • Smaller, more manageable payments
  • No late fees or penalties if payments are made on time
  • Automatic payments mean you do not have to remember due dates
  • Flexible options to suit different household budgets.
